Apostolic Doctrine
8/8/2018 7:06:17 PM

Readers,

I will do the best to lay out Biblical doctrine that we live and follow by. If there are any questions or concerns, comment below and we’ll address them.

The basic fundamental Apostles Doctrine.

In studying any doctrine, we must first realize that any doctrine in the New Covenant must be extracted from the Old Covenant. That is where we will pull from. Showing you the basic foundation of the Apostolic doctrine.

  • Believe:

Joh_3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Joh_3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Joh_3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Joh_3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Believing is a very fundamental foundation that opens the portal of Salvation. But, many, if not most Christians use that word (Believe) incorrectly, and in ignorance. If we look at the meaning and definition of the word (Believe), we’ll better understand the foundation.

Πεί peithō pi'-tho

A primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): - agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) content, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.

This primary verb is the root of Strong’s number G4100 πιστεύω pisteuō pist-yoo'-o. So, we could say that in order to believe, or be a believer, one must Obey, Trust, and Yield themselves unto God to be considered. This alone would root out many that call themselves Christians. Believing just gets the ball rolling for us. As Scripture shows, Samaria believed in the preaching of Philip, but they we’re a finish product.

I also want to make a note that the word (Faith) is the same Greek word in the Concordance as (Believe). Faith and Belief are interchangeable!

  • Repentance: Here is another major misconception by fundamental Christianity. Repentance is more than just tears, crying, sorrowful, etc. It’s an about face walk away from a sinful lifestyle. In other words, turning away from Filth, Corruption, Stealing, Lying, Cheating, Adultery, Fornication, etc. toward God. Repentance incorporates the Dying out of the Old Man or Nature! These points toward the Brazen Altar in the Old Covenant structure. The sacrifice of the animals!

G3341 Μετά metanoia

Thayer Definition:

1) a change of mind, as it appears to one who repents, of a purpose he has formed or of something he has done

Part of Speech: noun feminine

A Related Word by Thayer’s/Strong’s Number: from G3340

Citing in TDNT: 4:975, 636

Mat_3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:

Mat_9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Mar_2:17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Act_11:18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Act_26:20 But shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judaea, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.

2Co_7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation…

  • Baptism: This is the burying of the Old Man in a watery grave. Once a person has turned from sin, and crucified the Old Man, then he needs to be buried. This is done through Baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ. Titles: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost were never used or incorporated in the baptism mode or formula. In order for us to take on the Name of Jesus , we must be buried in His Name. Not titles!

Mar_16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Rom_6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Col_2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

1Pe_3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:

Those who are Baptized in the titles: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost do not have their sins remitted! It’s sorry to say, but their sins remain unto they are baptized properly in the Name of Jesus Christ! Baptism correlates with the Brazen Laver of the Old Covenant Temple.

  • Holy Ghost: Receiving the Holy Ghost is the Resurrection from the grave of sin unto a New Man. It is also the Power of God unto Salvation. Most fundamental Christianity believes that they receive the Holy Ghost when they just believe. It automatically comes in them. This is a great Scriptural misconception! Nobody in the Bible ever received the Holy Ghost when they just believed. The most important initial evidence is the Speaking in Tongues! Why Tongues as an evidence?

Jas 3:1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.

Jas 3:2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

Jas 3:3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.

Jas 3:4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

Jas 3:5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

Jas 3:6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

Jas 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:

Jas 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Jas 3:9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

Jas 3:10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Jas 3:11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

Jas 3:12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

As one can see, Tongues is part of the Holy Ghost. It is a sign unto them that believe: 1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not:…

These Scriptures will show that receiving the Holy Ghost, evidenced with speaking in other tongues is a necessity!

Joh 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Mar 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

Act 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Act 10:44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.

Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Act 10:46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

Act 19:6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

The command and plan unto Salvation:

Act 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

All the fullness of deity dwells in Him (Col. 2:9)

Joh_5:19  Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.

Joh_5:30  I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

As MAN

He worshiped the Father (John 17)

He was called man (Mark 15:39John 19:5)

He prayed to the Father (John 17)

He was tempted (Matt. 4:1)

He grew in wisdom (Luke 2:52)

Joh 14:7  If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Joh 14:8  Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.

Joh 14:9  Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?

Joh 14:10  Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
